Absolutely

  • passport and a copy stored separately
  • walking shoes or hiking boots
  • necessary medications
  • a couple pairs of long pants/jeans
  • at least two forms of money
  • light weight rain jacket, poncho or small umbrella
  • a couple sweaters or long sleeve shirts for cool nights
  • enough clothes to last at least 1 week (you’ll be able to do laundry)
  • daypack/backpack
  • toiletries

  • small alarm clock or watch
  • sunglasses
  • sunscreen
  • bathing suit

  • camera
  • at least one pair of semi formal clothes for a nice dinner/church/going out at night

  • Spanish dictionary/phrasebook

  • notebook and pen for new Spanish words/phrases
